My Professional Background
I specialize in nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century British, American, and post-colonial literature. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin. My dissertation addressed questions of form and the intersectionality of gender, race, and class in the works of Eliot and Woolf.
As an academic writer, I have published articles on Shakespeare, George Eliot, and Charlotte Brontë and I have contributed book chapters on Henry James, Joseph Conrad, and George Eliot. In 2019, I won the George Eliot Fellowship Essay Prize for my essay on water symbolism in Romola.
